2012 Reboot

As a computer geek IT person, I know the value of a reboot.  When in doubt, reboot.  If it’s not working, reboot.  Someone tells me something’s not working, the first thing I ask is when’s the last time they rebooted.  Why reboot?  because it resets your memory, and gets rid of all the little flotsam and jetsam that may be mucking things up.  Starts you out clean again so you can try without all the little hampering crap holding you back.  Once that’s done, if it’s not working you’ll have a better idea of what’s actually mucking up the works.

Last year towards the end of the year I lost a good bit of my personal focus.  The last quarter is always busy at my job, and this year was no exception.  But I sort of forgot what I was trying to do with my life journey, lost sight of my goals, and haven’t touched my blog here for months.  I had a great long break over the holidays, had to use up my vacation days before the end of the year so I got a good 3 weeks off in December.  I didn’t use it to go away on vacation, I stayed home and got my house in order for Christmas Eve feast guests.  I did detail cleaning, purged a lot of crap and made sure things were put AWAY rather than stowed in order to make things appear clean.  After Christmas I got some much needed rest, then started organizing my craft stuff, though there’s a LONG way to go on that.  What I essentially did was clean up from last year, and set things back to a good starting place.

I rebooted.

Now it’s 2012, and it’s a fresh start.  I’m not going to resolve to do anything.  I’m going to continue doing what I’ve done previously that has worked, try to stop doing things that don’t, and try out new things that may make my life more enjoyable.  If it all goes haywire again, which is certainly a possibility, I’ll try harder this time to notice it earlier and to rededicate myself sooner to my positive path.

I’ll stop, reset, and reboot.  When’s the last time you rebooted?
